SSC CGL Exam conducted by the Staff Selection Commission is one of the toughest exams in India. A national-level exam, it is conducted to recruit candidates in the various offices and departments under the Government of India. It is a graduate-level examination that is conducted in four phases, Tier 1, Tier 2, Tier 3 and Tier 4. While the first two tiers are Computer-based examinations, Tier 3 comprises a Descriptive Paper and Tier 4 is a Computer Proficiency or Skill Test.
Tier 1 has been made qualifying from this year. Final merit would be based on the marks obtained by the candidates in SSC CGL Tier 2, 3 and 4 examinations. The primary duties of a candidate recruited for the various posts under the SSC CGL exam include, providing assistance in the Audit process, data entry and processing, recording transactions. Assessing the payable Income Tax for various salary bands, preventing invasion of excise duty, preventing forgery, etc.. These responsibilities vary significantly from one post to the other.

The age limit varies for different posts and according to categories of people. The SSC has recently increased the age limit for SSC CGL 2022 recruitment. The minimum age limit has been relaxed from 20 years to 18 years and the maximum age limit is set at 32 years for the unreserved category. Relaxation in the upper age limit has been given to reserved categories, the details of which have been shared further in the article.

Step 2- Fill the application form with required details i.e Personal, Educational, Post Name, etc.
Step 3 - Upload scanned photograph and signature as per requirements mentioned in the official notification.
Step 4 - Preview and verify the information provided by you and Submit the Application.
Step 5 - Take out the Print Out of the Application Form for future reference. Note: Use a valid email ID that should be kept active till the declaration of results. You should keep a scanned photograph and signature ready as per the requirements mentioned in the official notification. HRA is provided to the employees to meet their house rent needs. House rent allowance varies according to the city and is classified into 3 categories. HRA shall not be less than Rs. 5400/- pm, Rs. 3600/- pm and Rs.1800/- pm at X, Y & Z class cities respectively.
HRA shall be revised to 27%, 18% & 9% of Basic Pay in X, Y & Z cities when Dearness Allowance (DA) crosses 25% and further to 30%, 20% and 10% of Basic Pay in X, Y & Z cities when DA crosses 50%
The Dearness Allowance is a cost of living adjustment allowance and is currently 17% Of basic Pay under the 7th Pay Commission. The union cabinet has increased the DA to 17% in October 2019.
