The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) Multi Tasking (Non-Technical) Staff Examination (MTS) is a recruitment exam conducted to recruit eligible candidates in various departments under the Government of India. What is SSC MTS?

The Staff Selection Commission administers the SSC MTS exam to fill non-gazetted, non-ministerial General Central Service Group ‘C' positions in various Central Government Ministries, Departments, and Offices throughout the country. SSC MTS is a perfect way for 10th-grade graduates in India to get a government job. The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) is going to conduct the SSC MTS 2023 Exam (Multitasking Staff) to hire candidates for different positions such as:

17th February 2023: SSC MTS Last Date Extended!

The last date for SSC MTS 2022 application has now been extended from 17th Feb to 24th Feb 2023. The online and offline payments can be done by the 26th and 27th of Feb 2023, respectively. The corrections in the application form can be done from 2nd to 3rd March 2023.

13th February 2023: SSC MTS Paper II 2021 Results & Cut-Off Out!

Staff Selection Commission conducted the Paper-II (Descriptive Paper) of Multi Tasking (Non-Technical) Staff, and Havaldar (CBIC & CBN) Examination, 2021 on 6th November 2022 and the Physical Efficiency Test/ Physical Standard Test (PET/ PST) for the posts of Havaldar was conducted by CBIC from 14th November to 9th December 2022 at various centres all over the country. 28th September 2022: SSC MTS Tentative Vacancies Out for 2023 cycle!

The Staff Selection Commission has released SSC MTS Tentative Vacancies for the 2022 cycle. In total, 7709 vacancies are released. These are further divided into categories and regions. For the MTS (Age Group 18-25), 3854 vacancies are out and for the MTS (Age Group 18-27), 252 vacancies are out. For Havaldar in CBIC, a total of 3603 vacancies are out. SSC MTS Apply Online 2023

Candidates can fill in the application form for the SSC MTS by following the steps mentioned below:

Step 1: Visit the SSC Official Website.

Step 2: After clicking on the link you will be directed to the homepage and then click on the “Apply” button on the right side of the page.

Step 3: After clicking on the Apply Button, you will have to register yourself, and then you will have to save your registration number and password. 

Step 4: You will be further directed to fill in the form with all your details including qualifications and contact details.

Step 5: Proceed further to upload your scanned images and make the payment. Try Testbook Resize Tool to upload the documents as per specification.

Step 6: After you have made the payment, print the e-receipt and save it for later use. 

SSC MTS Application Fee 2023

After the candidates have successfully filled in the application form for SSC MTS 2023, they will have to make the payment for the SSC MTS Application Form 2023. The payment will be made online via BHIM UPI, Net Banking, etc., or by offline mode. 

• The candidates will pay Rs.100/- for the SSC MTS Application Form 2023.
• The payment can be done online via BHIM UPI, New Banking, Visa, Mastercard, Maestro, RuPay Credit or Debit Cards.
• The payment can also be made offline through cash in SBI Branches by generating SBI Challan.
• Women, and candidates belonging to SC/ST/PwD/ESM or eligible for other reservations and are exempted to pay SSC MTS Application Fees 2023. 
• Applications received without the fee payment will not be considered for further processing. 

SSC MTS Selection Process 2023

In order to be recruited under SSC MTS, the candidates will have to meet the minimum eligibility criteria and will also have to qualify for the examination. The candidates will have to go through the SSC MTS Selection Process that consists of a Computer Based Test. Candidates who will be qualified in the CBT are eligible to attend the Document Verification.

SSC MTS Eligibility Criteria 2023

The candidates will have to meet the minimum SSC MTS Eligibility Criteria set for the candidates in order to be eligible for the SSC MTS 2023. 

The eligibility criteria shared below is as per the SSC MTS Recruitment 2022 notification since the SSC MTS 2023 notification is yet to be released. To get an idea of the ideal eligibility criteria candidates can check the space below. 

SSC MTS Nationality

Candidates satisfying the eligibility of the following conditions are eligible for SSC MTS:

• Must be a citizen of India 
• Subject of Nepal/ Bhutan
• Migrated Indian origin person from Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, Burma, Kenya, Ethiopia, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire.
• A Tibetan refugee who came here before 1st January 1962 with an intention to settle permanently.

SSC MTS Age limit (As on 01.01.2022)

• The candidates should be aged between 18-25 years  for MTS in CBN (Department of Revenue). 
• The candidates should be aged between 18-27 years for a few posts of MTS in CBIC (Department of Revenue).

The upper age will be relaxable for different categories which are mentioned below.

The candidates who wish to be a part of the SSC MTS Examination 2023 must have a minimum educational qualification.

They must have passed the matriculation (Class 10th) or equivalent examination from a recognized board.

SSC MTS Exam Pattern 2023

Candidates before starting to prepare for the exam must be well aware of the SSC MTS Exam Pattern. The SSC MTS Exam Pattern for all stages is mentioned below in the article. 

SSC MTS Paper-I Computer-Based Test

Paper 1 consists of 4 subjects namely- General Intelligence & Reasoning, Numerical Aptitude, General English, and General Awareness. Each subject carries separate marks, have a look at the table below for clear understanding.

• The Paper-I will be an objective type test including 100 questions which will be of 100 marks in total. 
• Each correct answer will be awarded 1 mark. 
• There will be a negative marking of 0.25 marks for every incorrect answer.

SSC MTS Exam Pattern 2023 (Revised)

Candidates before starting to prepare for the exam must be well aware of the SSC MTS Exam Pattern. The SSC MTS Exam Pattern for all stages is mentioned below in the article. 

Computer-Based Test

• The exam will be conducted for 270 marks.
• A total number of 90 questions are asked.
• There will be no negative marking in Session-I. In Session-II,
  there will be negative marking of one mark for each wrong
  answer..

SSC MTS Admit Card 2023

Candidates will have to download the SSC MTS Admit Card 2023 from the official website once it is released. 

Step 1: Visit the official website of SSC.

Step 2: Now you will be directed to the homepage, and now click on the “Admit Card” button on the top right corner.

Step 3: The links of the regional SSC Websites will appear on the screen and select the region for which you have applied. 

Step 4: Fill in the login credentials you have received during registration.

Step 5: The SSC MTS Admit Card 2023 will be displayed on the screen and you have to take a print of the admit card on an A4 size sheet. 

SSC MTS Cut Off 2023

SSC MTS Salary

The SSC MTS post falls under the Group C category of non-gazetted posts. The SSC MTS salary is Level-1 of the 7th Central Pay Commission (CPC) pay matrix. The SSC MTS salary comprises of the basic pay along with other allowances. The pay scale of the SSC MTS post is Rs. 18,000 – Rs. 56,900.

The SSC MTS salary components are as follows:

• Basic Pay: Rs. 18,000 to Rs. 56,900
• Dearness Allowance (DA): As per the Central Government rules
• House Rent Allowance (HRA): As per the Central Government rules

SSC MTS Job Profile

SSC MTS stands for Staff Selection Commission Multi Tasking Staff. It is a non-gazetted post in the Indian Government. The job profile of an SSC MTS consists of a wide range of duties such as:

• cleaning, gardening, kitchen and general help in offices
• schools and other government establishments.
