SSC MTS Eligibility 2023

Eligibility criteria is released by SSC along with the SSC MTS official notification. The SSC MTS eligibility criteria includes age limit, nationality, and educational qualification. The minimum age limit to apply for SSC MTS is 18 years and upper age limit is 25 years and for few posts it is 27 years and mandatory educational qualification required to apply for SSC MTS is 10th pass or equivalent from any recognised board. All the candidates who are interested in applying for this post must meet the eligibility criteria in order to successfully get through the selection process. Candidates who do not meet the eligibility criteria should not submit their application form otherwise they will be rejected for not meeting the requirements. The total count of SSC MTS Vacancies 2023 is 12,523 (11,994 for MTS Age groups and 529 for Havildar in CBIC posts).

SSC MTS Eligibility - Age limit (As on 01.01.2023)

The age limit criteria for SSC MTS are given below:

• The candidates should be aged between 18-25 years (i.e. born before 02-01-1997 and not later than 01-01-2004) for MTS in CBN (Department of Revenue).
• The candidates should be aged between 18-27 years (i.e. born before 02-01-1995 and not later than 01-01-2004) for a few posts of MTS in CBIC (Department of Revenue).

SSC MTS Age Relaxation

Candidates must provide a valid document to avail the age relaxation, and age relaxation varies according to the caste and other physical challenges. With age relaxation maximum age can go up to 45 years. It is important to remember that the age relaxation is only applicable to the upper age limit and not to the lower age limit. This means that the lower age limit of 18 years remains the same for all candidates regardless of their category. The details of age relaxation is provided below:

• It is necessary to remember that if he/she has a minimum of 40 percent disability in case of being physically handicapped, the applicant must get the advantage of reservation.
• A concession to an employee of the Central Government would be given either in the PH category or in the employee category of the central government.

SSC MTS Eligibility - Nationality

The candidates appearing for the SSC MTS 2023 must be a citizen of India. OR

• Must be subject to Nepal or
• Must be a subject of Bhutan or
• A refugee from Tibet who came to India before the 1st January 1962, with the intention of settling permanently in India, India
• A person of Indian descent who, with the intention of permanently settling in India, has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam.

Note: The candidate must be able to provide the certificate issued by the Government of India.

SSC MTS Eligibility - Educational Qualification

The candidates must possess the minimum qualification in order to be eligible for the SSC MTS 2023.

• The candidates must have a minimum of the matriculation or equivalent examination degree from a recognized board.

SSC MTS Eligibility - Physical Standards

The physical standards for the SSC MTS examination are as follows:

• Height: For General Category and Ex-serviceman, the minimum height should be 157.5 cms. For Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe candidates, the minimum height should be 155 cms.
• Chest: For all categories, the minimum chest measurement should be 77 cms (unexpanded) and 82 cms (expanded).
• Weight: For all categories, the minimum weight should be 48 kgs.

SSC Eligibility Criteria for Physically Handicapped Candidates

Eligibility criteria for physically handicapped candidates vary depending on the type and extent of disability they have and candidates must have a certificate to avail the benefit. Generally, physical disability candidates must meet certain criteria to be eligible for benefits. It is important to have a minimum of 40% disability in case of being physically handicapped. Eligibility criteria for physically handicapped candidates include:

• One leg affected (ON)
• One arm affected (OA)
• One leg and one arm were affected (OAL)
• Both the leg affected but arm is not affected (BL)
• Blind (B)
• Low Vision (LV)
• Hearing (H)
• Communication (c) is eligible for multitasking staff posts.

SSC MTS Eligibility Criteria 2023: Points to Remember

All the aspirants should know that they will get additional benefits if they have a minimum of 40% disability in case of being physically handicapped. The desirable applicants, who are going to appear in the SSC MTS exam, should check the SSC MTS eligibility criteria, which are discussed above before starting with their application process.

• Candidates must check their eligibility as mentioned in the matriculation i.e. 10th class marksheet. The date of birth mentioned in the 10th class marksheet is considered official and the same will be accepted by SSC. No request to change the date of birth will be entertained.
• Ex-servicemen can also submit their application form to appear in the SSC MTS exam, special age relaxation is allowed to them.
• The candidates must submit the valid SC/ST/OBC certificate to avail the age relaxation. The PWD candidates must present their disability certificate assigned from the concerned doctor or authority.

SSC MTS Documents and Format of Certificates Required 2023

• For the submission of relevant certificates, relaxation, or reservation under different categories is required.
• Candidates shall apply to the competent authority the appropriate SC / ST / OBC / disability certificate issued on or before the specified date, in the required format, if such certificates are requested by the Regional / Sub-Regional Office. If there is some failure to provide the appropriate certificates, they will not be satisfied with their claim.
• Applicants must not participate in illegal practices in order to gain reservation or age relaxation, or else they will be indefinitely debarred from the Commission's exams. The closing date will be viewed as the OBC status estimation date.
