SSC JHT Eligibility Criteria 2022
Those candidates who are willing to apply for SSC Junior Hindi Translator must be well aware of the eligibility criteria set by the Staff Selection Commission. Candidates have to fulfill the criteria such as age limit, educational qualification, nationality criteria to apply for SSC JHT. SSC JHT Age Limit Criteria
- The minimum age limit is 18 years.
- The maximum age limit is 30 years.
- Candidates must not have been born before January 1, 1992, and not later than January 1, 2004.

SSC JHT Educational Qualification Criteria 2022
The post-wise education qualification is given below:
Candidates Must fulfill any of the criteria:
- Master’s degree in Hindi with English as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of examination at the degree level.
- Master’s degree in English with Hindi as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of examination.
- Master’s degree in any subject other than Hindi or English with Hindi medium and English as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of an examination.
- Master’s degree in any subject other than Hindi or English, with English medium and Hindi as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of examination at the degree level.
- Master’s degree in any subject other than Hindi or English, with Hindi and English as compulsory or elective subjects or either of the two as a medium of examination and the other as a compulsory or elective subject at degree level.
- Recognized Diploma or Certificate course in translation from Hindi to English & vice versa.
- Two years’ experience as a translator from Hindi to English and vice versa in Central or State Government Office, including Government of India Undertaking.
SSC JHT Eligibility Criteria 2022: Nationality
Candidates must be either
- A citizen of India, or
- A subject of Nepal, or
- A subject of Bhutan, or
- A Tibetan refugee who came over to India before January 1, 1962, with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
- A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries such as Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (Formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.
Candidates who have come from the above-mentioned countries must have a certificate of eligibility issued by the Government of India.
SSC JHT Number of Attempts
The SSC board has not announced a fixed cap on the number of times a candidate can attempt for SSC JHT therefore a candidate can keep attempting for SSC JHT till he/she crosses the age limit.

SSC JHT Guidelines for Scribe
- For persons with benchmark disabilities in the category of blindness and locomotor disability (both arms affected-BA) and cerebral palsy, the facility of a scribe is provided, if desired by the candidate.
- For the remaining persons with benchmark disabilities, the provision of scribe will be available on production of a certificate to the effect that the person concerned has physical limitation to write, and scribe is essential to write the examination on his/her behalf.
- The candidate will have the discretion of opting for his/her own scribe or the facility of scribe provided by the Commission. Appropriate choice in this regard will have to be given by the candidate in the online application form.
- In case the candidate opts for their own scribe, the qualification of the scribe should be one step below the qualification of the candidate taking the examination and also, the scribe should not be a candidate for this examination.
- The candidates with benchmark disabilities opting for their own scribe shall be required to submit details of their own scribe at the time of examination.
- A photocopy of the ID proof of the scribe signed by the candidate as well as the scribe will be submitted. If subsequently it is found that the qualification of the scribe is not as declared by the candidate, then the candidature will be canceled.
- A compensatory time of 20 minutes per hour of the examination will be provided to the persons who are allowed the use of a scribe.
- The candidates who are eligible for use of scribe but not availing the facility of scribe will also be given compensatory time of 20 minutes per hour of examination. No attendant other than the scribe for eligible candidates will be allowed inside the examination hall.
- One-eyed candidate and partially blind candidates who are able to read the normal Question Paper set with or without a magnifying glass and who wish to write/ indicate the answer with the help of a magnifying glass will be allowed to use the same in the Examination Hall and will not be entitled to a Scribe. Such candidates will have to bring their own magnifying glass to the Examination Hall.
- The PwD candidates who have availed the facility of Scribes/ Passage Reader and/or compensatory time must produce relevant documents for the eligibility of scribe/compensatory time at the time of Document Verification. Failure to produce such supporting documents will lead to the cancellation of their candidature for the examination.
