SSC CGL Tier 1 Exam Pattern 2022-23
The SSC CGL Tier 1 Exam Pattern is designed to test a candidate's aptitude, knowledge, and mental ability. It is mandatory for candidates to qualify this stage to be eligible for the next stage of the examination process.
- The SSC CGL Tier I Examination has 4 sections - Reasoning, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude & English Language
- Each section consists of 25 questions and each question carries 2 marks which makes it a total of 50 marks per section
- The total time duration is 60 minutes and there is a negative marking of 0.50 marks per question
- The Total marks can hence be calculated as -

SSC CGL Tier 2 Exam Pattern 2022-23 (Revised)
SSC CGL Tier 2 Exam Pattern is an important aspect of the SSC CGL examination. The Tier 2 examination is for candidates who have qualified in Tier 1 and is divided into 3 papers - Paper I, Paper II and Paper III. An SSC CGL Exam Pattern change has been there for the Tier 2 as per which -
- Paper I is compulsory for every post and consists of 2 sections i.e Mathematical Abilities and Reasoning and General Intelligence. Each section has 30 questions and carries a total of 60 marks. The duration of the Paper I is 1 hour for each section.
- Paper II is for candidates who have applied for the post of Junior Statistical Officer (JSO) and is based on statistics. It has 100 questions and carries 200 marks. The duration of Paper II is 2 hours.
- Paper III is for candidates who are shortlisted in Tier-I for Paper III and is based on General Studies (Finance and Economics). It also has 100 questions and carries 200 marks. The duration of Paper III is 2 hours.
It's important to note that the SSC CGL Tier 2 Exam Pattern also includes a section on English Language and Comprehension and General Awareness as part of Paper I, as well as a section on Computer Knowledge and Data Entry Speed Test as part of Paper III.
