Candidates need to pass a bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized university. There is no barrier in terms of belonging to any specific stream or aggregate required for this. Those who are in the final year of their graduation can also apply but they need to show proof of their qualifying examination at the prescribed date mentioned by the concerned authority.

The SSC CGL Preventive Officer syllabus is designed to test the candidate's knowledge and skills in various areas that are relevant to the job. The SSC CGL Preventive Officer syllabus is divided into four sections, namely: General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, and English Comprehension.

Tier II is also a computer-based test (CBT) that consists of English Language and Comprehension and Quantitative Aptitude paper with each one is of 200 marks and there is a negative marking scheme, in case of former there is a deduction of 0.25 marks for each incorrect attempt, and in case of later 0.50 is deducted for each wrong answer.
Tier III is a descriptive paper, it’s conducted in pen and paper mode for 100 marks in sixty minutes in both English and Hindi pertaining to Essay/Precis/Letter/Application, etc.
Tier IV is a document verification process, selected candidates need to verify the proof of their educational qualifications and other relevant details for the same.
