SSC MTS Post Preference Codes for States/UTs/CCAs

All candidates will be required to put preference of their post-cum-states or UTs or CCAs during the SSC MTS Apply Online process. You must also note that the commission will make the final merit list based on the written exam scores and then shortlist candidates against the vacancies of their post-preferences. A candidate will be posted in only those states/UTs/CCAs for which he has given preference unless there are requirements of other Departments in other States/UTs. SSC MTS Posts and Salary Structure 2023

In SSC MTS recruitment 2023, candidates will be paid as per the 7th pay commission. The SSC MTS salary will be as per pay band-1 (Rs. 5,200 - Rs. 20,200) with a grade pay of Rs.1800. The in-hand salary ranges between Rs.18,000 - Rs. 22,000. In addition to that, the salary will vary depending on the candidates’ job location and city allowances. Once candidates receive the SSC MTS Joining Letter, the salary structure for all SSC MTS posts will be as follows -

Job Profile of Various SSC MTS Posts

As you understand, the entire SSC MTS post name list comprises Group ‘C’ non-ministerial ranks in various Govt. ministries/organizations/departments, etc. Apart from their own work responsibilities, all employees are delegated with other responsibilities from their senior department officers as listed below -

• Physical upkeep of the Section's records.
• Aiding in the operation of routine workplaces and computers, such as a diary, dispatch, and so on.
• Delivering couriers outside building premises.
• Resource work related to ITI qualifications (if applicable)
• Dispatching files and other documents within the department. 
• Delivering photocopies and FAX officially.
• Transportation and vehicle driving (with a valid driver's license only)
• Non-clerical duties related to station/unit's cleanliness, upkeep, etc.
• Watch and ward responsibilities.
• Cleaning of rooms, buildings, fixtures, and so on.
• Maintenance of the department's park, lawns and garden/potted plants. 
• Any other tasks delegated by superior authority

SSC MTS Post Promotion 2023

After the SSC MTS Result is out, candidates join the service and after completion of certain years, they are promoted to the next higher post-level. Candidates who clear the SSC MTS exam are eligible to have an increase in pay in due course of time as detailed below.

Career Growth of SSC MTS Posts

All SSC MTS non technical posts are eligible to different increments in their years of service as per the 7th pay commission. Apart from promotional and annual increments, candidates are also incremented in terms of position and responsibilities. Now, let’s go through the career growth to determine the highest SSC MTS post. 

• After 5-6 years of service, an SSC MTS employee will be promoted to a Lower Division Clerk (LDC) by departmental review without appearing for the test, subject to availability of vacancies.
• Any MTS employee who is promoted to LDC upon clearing a test can also be promoted to an Upper Division Clerk (UDC) by giving another departmental test or be promoted by default upon completion of defined service duration. 
• Any MTS employee with extraordinary years of service can retire with a Gazetted rank or as Section Officer (SO) under the Secretary Level
