Step 2: A new page will appear on the screen. Candidates must enrol themselves with the “One Time Registration” option. After doing so, candidates can start filling in the application with all the necessary information.

Step 4: Candidates should make the application fee payment before submitting the form.

WBPSC Judicial Service Application Fee 2023

The Candidates who are applying for the West Bengal Judicial Service exam will have to pay an application fee. The application fee is meant to be paid by the candidates while submitting the application form. Check the table below to know the details.

• A Payment of INR 210/- + Service Charge has to be paid by the candidates under the UR category.
• SC/ST candidates and PWD candidates of West Bengal need not pay an application fee.
• However, BC candidates are required to pay the usual fee as mentioned above. 
• There will be no exemption given to the SC/ST candidates of other states. 

Note: There will be no refund of the application fee/exam fee once paid.

WBPSC Judicial Service Selection Process 2023

The West Bengal Judicial Service Exam will consist of three stages in the selection process. The selection process will be, namely; Prelims exam, Mains Exam, and Personality test. The candidates who clear all three stages will be considered for the post of Civil Judge (Jr. Division). We can take a look at the details below.

Preliminary Examination

The preliminary examination will consist of 200 multiple choice objective-type questions. Each question will weigh one mark and the exam will be conducted for a total of 180 minutes. The candidates who clear the prelims examination will be selected for the next stage of the selection process

Mains Examination

The mains exam will be a conventional type written examination. The examination will have eight compulsory papers and three optional papers. The compulsory and optional papers will carry a total of 100 marks Those candidates who clear this stage will be called up for the final stage of the selection process

Personality Test

The candidates who clear the mains examination and are shortlisted will have to attend the personality test/interview. This stage will be conducted for a total of 100 marks. The Final merit list will be prepared on the basis of total marks obtained in the Final Examination and the Personality Test.

Note: Candidates who will be shortlisted for the appointment will be required to appear before a Medical Board for certificates of their fitness for Government service in the form prescribed for the purpose.

WBPSC Judicial Service Eligibility 2023

Candidates who wish to apply for theWest Bengal Judicial Service Exam 2023 must first check the eligibility criteria. The criteria are set by the board and all the aspirants have to fulfill it in order to apply for the post. The details are given below.

A. Nationality

• Candidate must be an Indian Citizen or such a person of other nationality as declared eligible by Government of India

B. Age

• Candidates must be not less than 23 years and not more than 35 years of age. 
• The candidates must be the above-mentioned age as of 30.12.2022.
• There will be an age relaxation given to certain categories. Candidates are advised to check the official notification for more details.
• The upper age limit for the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribes of West Bengal is 5 years and for Backward Caste candidates (Non-creamy layer) is 3 years and the candidates with any type of physical disabilities which is 40% have an upper limit relaxation till 45 years and 2 years for the government servants who at least served for 2 years 

C. Educational Qualification

• The candidate must hold a degree in Law from any University or Institution affiliated to any University recognized by the State Government/Central Government.
• Enrolment as an advocate in the roll of Bar Council of any State or Union Territory in India. 
• Should be able to read, write, and speak in Bengali.

WBPSC Judicial Service Exam Pattern 2023

The WBPSC Judicial Service Exam will consist of three stages in the selection process. We can take a look at the WBPSC Judicial Service Prelims exam pattern and mains exam pattern. The details are as given below.

• The exam will an Objective Type-Multiple Choice Based Questions exam.
• With 200 marks in total, each section will weigh differently.
• The exam will be conducted for a total of 2 ½ hours.
• The Standard of the paper will be of the level of graduation in Law of a recognized University of West Bengal.

• The mains examination will be a written examination.
• There will be both compulsory and optional papers.
• Candidates will have to choose only three from the optional papers.
• Each paper will weigh 100 marks.
• The exam will be conducted for a total of 3 hours.
• The standard of examination in the Law papers (Compulsory and Optional) will be that of the LL.B. Degree of the Calcutta University. 
• All answers must be written either in English or in Bengali except in the language papers.

The WBPSC Judicial Service exam syllabus will be of LL.B. Degree level. The candidates are advised to prepare themselves accordingly for the prelims and mains examinations.

WBPSC Judicial Service Cut Off 2023
