UPSC NDA (I) Application Dates extended till 12th January 2023 till 6:00 pm. Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released the NDA I 2023 Notification for 395 vacancies. The selection process for the exam includes a Written Exam and SSB Interview. Candidates who get successful selection under UPSC NDA will get a salary range between Rs. 15,600 to Rs. 39,100. It is expected that a new notification for UPSC NDA is going to be released.
The NDA (I) exam 2023 is scheduled to be conducted on 16th April 2023. Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) released the NDA I 2023 Notification consisting of 395 vacancies. The NDA 1 exam is a highly sought-after exam for individuals wishing to join the Indian defence services, including the Army, Navy, and Air force. The exam is conducted by UPSC twice a year. Only the candidates who have completed or are in the 12th grade are eligible to take the NDA exam. The NDA-qualified students are admitted into the National Defense Academy and are trained for 3 years to serve the nation in different wings of the Indian defense forces. The selection process for the exam includes a Written Exam and SSB Interview. The selected candidates will also get a salary ranging between Rs. 15,600 and Rs. 39,100. The UPSC released the NDA 2023 official notification on its website on the 21st of December 2022. This Exam is a national-level exam conducted twice every year by UPSC for recruitment into the Navy, Air Force, and Navy wings of the NDA. NDA 1 2023 will be held on the 16th of April 2023 this year. The application forms have been rolled out for the same. Applicants intending to join the forces can fill out the online application forms starting from the 21st of December to the 10th of January by 6:00 pm. NDA Exam 1 2023 Official Notification
NDA is one of the country's most buzzing defense entrance examinations. This exam is carried out for admission to Army, Navy, and Air Force wings of the Indian Naval Academy Course (INAC) and National Defence Academy.
The exam is conducted twice annually in two tiers: a written test and SSB Interview. UPSC-shortlisted candidates with minimum qualifying marks are only called further for the SSB Interview round in Intelligence and Personality Test. Around 4 lakhs aspirants wish to attend the examination, of which approximately 6000 are called for the interview round. NDA stands for National Defence Academy. The National Defence Academy is a tri-service military academy that trains young aspirants of the three wings of the Indian Defence Service. Established in 1954, it is located at Khadakwasla, Maharashtra, near Pune. Candidates qualified for their 10+2 exam are eligible to train at NDA. But for this, they must clear the selection process, which is a written exam and SSB Interview.
The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) conducts the exam twice a year to recruit eligible candidates as officers in the National Defence Services. After qualifying for the selection process, candidates undergo training for three years. After completing their training, candidates are commissioned as Officers in the Army, Navy, and Air Force.
The Army cadets are sent to the Indian Military Academy (IMA) at Dehradun, Air force cadets are sent to the Air Force Academy (AFA) at Dundigal, Hyderabad, and Naval cadets are sent to the Indian Naval Academy (INA) at Ezhimala, Kerala for their further training.
In the recently released notification for the NDA I Exam 2023, the UPSC has announced 395 vacancies. Separate vacancies are released for various services, and for males and females. Candidates must note that these vacancies are provisional and may change depending on the training capacity of the NDA. Candidates can check the details of the branch-wise vacancies below.

In order to apply for the NDA 1 exam 2023, candidates must satisfy the minimum eligibility requirements as stated in the official notification. Only eligible candidates will be allowed to appear for the examination. These criteria are expressed in terms of 3 points namely, nationality, age limit, educational qualification, and others. Candidates applying for the NDA(I) 2023 should not be born earlier than 2nd July 2004 and not later than 1st July 2007. Candidates should note that only the date of birth as recorded in the Matriculation/ Secondary School Examination Certificate available or an equivalent certificate on the date of submission of applications will be accepted by the Commission and no subsequent request for its change will be considered or granted. Also, candidates should be unmarried and they cannot marry until the completion of their training period.
A candidate who marries subsequent to the date of his application though successful at this or any subsequent examination will not be selected for training. A candidate who marries during training shall be discharged and will be liable to refund all expenditures incurred on him by the Government.

The SSB exam will further consist of two stages i.e. Stage I and Stage II. In this stage, the overall personality of the candidate is judged. This is done by three people i.e The Interviewing Officer (IO), Group Testing Officer (GTO), and the Psychologist. The tests taken in the SSB are taken to figure out the presence/absence of Officer Like Qualities and candidates' trainability. The two stages of the SSB Examination are as follows.
Stage I: Officer Intelligence Rating (OIR) tests are Picture Perception * Description Test (PP&DT). The candidates will be shortlisted based on a combination of performance in the OIR Test and PP&DT.
Stage II: Interview, Group Testing Officer Tasks, Psychology Tests, and the Conference.
The SSB interview is 900 marks and the total marks including the written test and the SSB Interview are 1800.

List of guidelines that should be followed during NDA 1 Exam 2023:
The candidates can apply for the NDA from 21st December 2022 to 10th January 2023. The steps on how to apply are mentioned below.
Step 1: Go to the official website and complete the OTR (One Time Registration) process first.
Step 2: Then proceed and begin filling out the Part I Online Application form.
Step 3: Fill in the mandatory details before clicking on Submit.
Step 4: A unique Registration ID will be generated after successful submission.
Step 5: Pay the fees and revisit the website.
Step 6: Select Part II Registration and Fill in all the details in Part II.
Step 7: After submitting the form, take the printout of the application form for further reference.

Step 9: Repeat the above steps.

The candidates belonging to the SC/ST category will not have to pay any examination fee. The fee can be paid either by depositing the money in any branch of SBI by cash or by using the net banking facility of any bank or through Visa/MasterCard/Rupay Credit/Debit Card/UPI. The Union Public Service Commission's Official Notification for NDA 1 Exam 2023 will contain an extensive salary structure. During the training cycle, the Cadets will be paid a fixed stipend of Rs. 56,100/- for the duration of their training in service academies (i.e. during their training period at IMA). The pay in the pay matrix of the Officer commissioned shall be set in the first Cell of Level 10 after a good training. The Pay scale will differ from one post to another and will be mentioned in the official guidelines.

The result for the NDA I Exam 2023 will be released once the exam is conducted. The candidates can follow the steps which are mentioned below to download the result.
Step 1: Candidates should visit the official website for UPSC to download the NDA Result or can also directly download the Results PDF shared in Latest Updates section.
Step 2: A PDF with complete result information will appear on the candidate's screen after clicking on the link.
Step 3: The Roll Numbers of the candidates who have applied are included in the PDF file. To quickly locate your roll number, click “Ctrl+F” and type in your roll number. Your roll number will appear on the screen if you have qualified.
Step 4: Take a look at the result sheet. Candidates who have been chosen for the SSB Interview/Test are entitled to participate.
Step 5: Save the result for future reference as well and take 2-3 copies of the result.
Once the exam is over, the UPSC will announce the 2023 NDA 1 final merit list, which will include a list of applicants who qualified for both the written and SSB interviews.
