• Candidates must have passed the Higher Secondary (HS or +2) or any equivalent Examination from any recognized Board or University with no less than 35% marks in average OR Candidates must have passed the Madhyamik examination and have done Stenography Course from an ITI with no less than 35% marks in Madhyamik. 
• Candidates must have Knowledge of operating Computer and a certificate from any Government or Government recognized or Government registered Institution or University with a minimum duration of three months. 
• Candidates must have proficiency in English on computer and shorthand writing or transcription with a minimum speed of 40 words/ minute and 100 words/ minute respectively. 
• Candidates belonging to the SC/ST/ Ex-serviceman /PH category will enjoy a relaxation of 5% marks in their qualifying examination marks.

• The Preliminary Examination will be Objective in nature, whereas the Main Examination will be descriptive in nature.

• The Preliminary Examination is a Screening Test only to select candidates for the Typewriting & Shorthand Writing & Transcription. The Marks obtained in this Examination by the candidates will not be taken into account for the purpose of preparing the final merit list. 
• The final selection will be made in order of merit on the basis of marks obtained by a candidate in Main Examination plus the marks obtained in the Typewriting & Shorthand Writing & Transcription Test.
