What is the SSC CHSL Selection Process 2022-23?

The SSC CHSL Selection Process are stages that the candidates have to go through in order to finally qualify for the various posts offered by the Staff Selection Committee. The Commission selects the candidates based on two stages i.e. the selection process will consist of Two Tiers of the CBT Exam:

1. Tier I - Objective Type
2. Tier II - Tier II is the Descriptive Paper which also includes Typing Test/Skill Test Examination for the post of DEO, PA/SA, LDC, and Court Clerk

SSC CHSL Selection Process 2022-23 Tier I

The Tier-1 selection process of SSC CHSL 2022 is given below.

• The Tier 1 exam consists of multiple-choice questions (objective).
• Language of question paper will be in both the languages Hindi and English. You should also check the SSC CHSL Syllabus in depth to get an idea about the topics asked.

• Candidates will be awarded 2 marks for every correct answer and 0.50 marks will get deducted for every incorrect answer.
• The total score in tier-1 will be 200.
• Candidates will get a maximum of 1 hour to complete the examination.
• Tier 1 Exam is qualifying in nature.

SSC CHSL Selection Process 2022-23 Tier II

Tier II will be held in two sessions i.e Session –I & Session II, on the same day. Session-I will include conducting Section I, Section II and Module I of Section III. Session II will include conducting Module II of Section III. It will be mandatory for the candidates to qualify for all Tier II sections.

• Tier II will consist of Objective Type, Multiple choice questions, except for Module II of Section III. The questions will be set in English and Hindi except for Module II (i.e. English Language and Comprehension module) in Section II.
• There will be a negative marking of 1 mark for each wrong answer in Section I, Section II and Module I of Section III. Candidates are, therefore, advised to keep this in mind while answering the questions.
• Module I of Section III i.e. Computer Knowledge Test is mandatory but qualifying in nature.
• Skill Test/ Typing Test will be of qualifying nature.
• Part A - Skill Test for the post of DEO/ DEO Grade 'A’: ‘Data Entry Speed of 8,000 (Eight Thousand) Key Depressions per hour on Computer’ will be adjudged on the basis of the correct entry of words/ key depressions as per the given passage.
• Part B - Typing Test for other posts i.e. LDC/ JSA: Candidates opting for English medium should have a typing speed of 35 words per minute (w.p.m.) and those opting for Hindi medium should have typing speed of 30 words per minute (w.p.m.). 35 w.p.m. and 30 w.p.m. correspond to about 10500 key depressions per hour and about 9000 key depressions per hour respectively.

Normalization Process Used to Calculate Final Score in SSC CHSL

The normalization process is a method that is used to adjust the scores of candidates appearing for different shifts or different sets of exams. This process is used to ensure fairness in the selection process. This is necessary because of the varying difficulty in the different sets and shifts of SSC CHSL exam.

The normalized score is calculated by taking into account the mean and standard deviation of raw scores of candidates in each set or shift. The raw scores of candidates are then converted to a standardized score, based on the mean and standard deviation of the set or shift they have taken. This ensures that the final score reflects the relative performance of candidates across all sets or shifts of the exam.

SSC CHSL Document Verification Process

The document verification process for SSC CHSL is conducted after the written exam and skill test. The purpose of this process is to verify the authenticity of information that is provided by candidates in their application form and to ensure that they meet the eligibility criteria for the post they have applied for. Following are the stages or processes of SSC CHSL Document Verification.

• Candidates have to submit original copies of their educational certificates, identity proof, age proof, and other relevant documents for the verification process as specified in the notification.
• Next, candidates have to go through a biometric verification process. Fingerprints and photographs are captured to ensure that there is no impersonation or fraudulent activity.
• After the biometric verification, candidates have to sign a declaration stating that the information provided by them is correct and true to the best of their knowledge. 

The information provided in the application form must be accurate and up-to-date. Candidates who fail to produce the required documents or provide incorrect information will be disqualified from the recruitment process.

SSC CHSL Selection Process 2022-23 Final Allotment

The final selection and the allocation of departments to the candidates will be determined based on the performance of candidates in the Tier-2 Exam.

Based on the merit list, the recommended candidates will be allotted to the posts of PA, SA, DEO, and LDC. Candidates are not allowed to change their preference for a post once it is declared.
