The following are the significant pointers to be kept in mind by all the candidates appearing for the SSC JE ME recruitment exam:
- Try to reach the exam centre 30 minutes prior to the reporting time to avoid unnecessary panic and to complete pre-exam formalities.
- The candidates should compulsorily carry their SSC JE ME admit card and a valid Photo ID Proof to be allowed to write the exam.
- Applications with blurred photographs and/ or signatures will be rejected.
- Follow social distancing rules at the exam centre like wearing masks, and gloves, and also carrying personal hand sanitizer bottles at the exam centre.

Scribe Details for the SSC JE ME Exam
Scribe Information for the SSC JE ME Exam has been detailed by SSC. More details regarding this will be notified on the official notification. These are:
- In the case of persons with benchmark disabilities in the category of blindness, locomotor disability (both arms affected-BA) and cerebral palsy, the facility of the scribe is provided if desired by the candidate. Since the posts are not identified as suitable for persons with blindness and BA, therefore facility of scribe and compensatory time will not be admissible to such candidates.
- In the case of the remaining categories of persons with benchmark disabilities, the provision of a scribe will be available on production of a certificate at the time of examination to the effect that the person concerned has physical limitations to writing, and a scribe is essential to write the examination on his/ her behalf, from the Chief Medical Officer/ Mechanical Surgeon/ Medical Superintendent of a Government health care institution.
- The candidate will have the discretion of opting for their own scribe or the facility of scribe provided by the Commission. An appropriate choice in this regard will have to be given by the candidate in the online application form.
- In case the candidate opts for his/ her own scribe, the qualification of the scribe should be one step below the qualification of the candidate taking the examination. The candidates with benchmark disabilities opting for their own scribe shall be required to submit details of their own scribe at the time of examination.
- In addition, the scribe has to produce a valid ID proof in original at the time of examination. A photocopy of the ID proof of the scribe signed by the candidate as well as the scribe will be submitted. If subsequently it is found that the qualification of the scribe is not as declared by the candidate, then the candidate shall forfeit his/her right to the post and claims relating thereto.
- A compensatory time of 20 minutes per hour of examination will be provided to the persons allowed to use the scribe.
- The candidates who are allowed the use of a scribe but do not avail of the facility of a scribe will also be given compensatory time of 20 minutes per hour of examination.
- No attendant other than the scribe for eligible candidates will be allowed inside the examination hall.
- The PwD candidates who have availed the facility of scribes and/ or compensatory time must produce relevant documents for the eligibility of scribe/ compensatory time at the time of Document Verification. Failure to produce such supporting documents will lead to the cancellation of their candidature for the examination.
SSC JE ME Exam Pattern and Selection Process
The candidates should check the entire SSC JE ME Exam Pattern & Selection process before commencing the exam preparation. The SSC JE ME selection process hasn’t been notified for 2022. Based on the previous Year’s notification, the candidates will be selected for the post based on their performance in the Written Test and Document Verification. We are discussing the 2021 cycle. The official Exam Pattern for the written exam is as follows:
- Subject 1 & 2 of Paper 1 are the same for all the candidates.
- For Subject 3, a candidate has to choose his/her subjects from Civil/ Mechanical/ Electrical.
- In both the papers 1&2 for General Engineering, a candidate will be required to attempt only the part as per the option given in the application form.
- In Paper 1 there will be a negative marking of 0.25 marks for every wrong answer.
- Paper 2 will be descriptive and will be conducted in pen and paper mode.
- In Paper 2 a candidate has to choose his/her subjects from Mechanical/ Mechanical/ Electrical.
- A candidate will be allowed to bring his/her own slide rule, Calculator, log table, and steam table for Paper 2.
- There will be no negative marking in Paper 2.
